cracked open

Today at dVerse we have a picture prompt from Mish, focused on the work of Ally Saunders.

My choice is the featured image above entitled ‘Cracked Open’

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
here
the (h)earth
held
by trembling hand
so vibrant and green
watered by a dripping
dancing
kaleidoscope of emotion
here the opening
the crack in the soul of it all
the vulnerable edge
unseen for the most part
here the giving
and the receiving
of life’s dance
here the flower bloom
fed by experience
lifted and unfolded from
pain
into full-ness
into the light
here the circle
of it all
no beginning
no end
  1. Love your closing /here the circle of it all/no beginning/no end/. Yes, he painting made me think Zen thoughts.
  2. It did seem to me like a description of the circle of life. here the circle
    of it all
    no beginning
    no end
    It flows well with the painting, as it travels from top to bottom
    • It’s an idea I hold Dear, Frank and comes from the writings of Trungpa Rinpoche, who likes our pain to compost…fetile soil for new growth…It really spoke to me when I read it first.
  3. Wonderful.
    “the vulnerable edge”…that really spoke to me. There is so much that lies under the surface, ingrained that can leave us empty or strengthen us.
  4. I like the lines everyone has mentioned, too, but this “lifted and unfolded from pain into full-ness” made me wonder if the earth does feel pain in birth just as humans do.
