To the One Who Opens the door
The Door
And the Gate Keeper
And, to the One
who walks
through– Sulis Sarasvati –
there is a point
a moment in time and space
focused and singular
where change is noticed
here all things are possible
here we know
and we don’t know
collectively agitated
cognition awakens
or does not
a train wreck
or a murmuration
we can choose
here in this point
there is a w(hole)
and in all such points
in all such moments
where we might awaken
so that we are gone
blown into dust by the
eons of starry deaths
blinking impossibly
in the night’s theatre
reminding us of our
nothingness in all this
which itself is no thing
every point is a w(hole)
every w(hole) is a door
every door is open or not
infinite possibilities
open or not (10101010)
door (1)
no door (0)
everytime
every place
and no time
or place at all
unless of course
it is ajar
Submission to Imaginary Toads with Brendan offering a challenge to write about Doors
Doors can definitely be portals, if we let them. (K)
and even if we don’t 😉
A murmuration, indeed. Love the murmuring flow to this, the lid to the jar is a door
Thanks…made me giggle.
The world is a door full of possibilities and infinite choices, and choices the option of open or closed…
And in the end we are nothing…
(I giggled at Erbiage’s comment too.)
Anna :o]
Beautifully put Anna x
every whole is a door…
You give us much to contemplate in these lines.
Love those two states of door no door… reminds me of Schrödinger’s cat…
Love the puns and the old joke, Paul!
Love this especially; “every point is a w(hole) every w(hole) is a door every door is open or not
infinite possibilities open or not ” Beautifully penned!❤️
I was struck by the same lines Sanaa has quoted. Loved this, Paul.
Yes. first of all, Eric’s comment made me smile hugely. But especially, the state of doors, the lie of doors, the truth of doors. Much to think about in this poem Paul. Much.
Does nature have doors? Only we feel the need to contain, keep out, go in, go out. Other animals have binary brains, but does instinct overrule deliberation?
“… cognition awakens / or does not / a train wreck / or a murmuration / we can choose ..” (Love the alternation.) Ajar is agape!
I wonder if even when a physical door is removed how much of who and what entered it remains. We are in a constant state of entering portals, be it physical, spiritual, or mental.
