i love you
both
options are appealing
to an open heart
flutter by shootings are common
in the realm of the corpuscle
this chemistry bonds souls
bristling skin’s silky hair
reminds me of the fear of love
an arrow pointed at my self
precursing the coming of the pain
measured wound open but yet healed

Gotcha. Thanks.
The chemistry that bonds souls. Perfect
Thanks for dropping by. I see you have new blog up. I’ll drop by and have a read.
This is the kind of love poem I particularly enjoy–mature, layered, and full of the juice of experience, which while its no panacea, often gives us that insight which contains a saving grace. I especially like “…flutter by shootings are common…” and the gentle, but potent close. Thanks so much for playing, Paul–have a kickass weekend.
reminds me of the fear of love
an arrow pointed at my self
precursing the coming of the pain
A common fear, and what unknown strength it takes to overcome the coming pain.
For me this speaks of the fear of having a new relationship after a former relationship broke apart. I think it’s important to let the wounds heal to be able to trust again
Love is certainly wounding, even a true and mutual love…
But if a broken heart, we try and try again, for somehow the pain seems worth it.
