how to un-zip

new limbs at my

submission for De’s prompt at dVerse and another poem for the NaPoWriMo pile.
I love the way this spills
down
down
down,
as we stretch and grow
and feel like rock bottom.
LOVE the idea of “new limbs.”
Paradigm shift, indeed! Really like how you formatted this poem, but I especially enjoy how it expresses this reader’s world.
This is amazing and I love your title too!
I could hear ‘Knocking on heaven’s door’ while I was reading this.
What clever imagery. Love the title. 🙂
This is my favorite part:
“new limbs at my
(age)
requires a stretch”
… especially with the hanging “i” at the end, which leads me to read … “requires a stretchy.” 🙂
Clever title, and wonderful poem.
That’s a whole new paradigm shift ~ This calls for a hefty unzipping of soul ~
I feel this (in all my bones)
Unzipping feelings can be a daunting task! Great poem.

A serious reflective piece where you leave the reader space to breath, time to digest the truth of you’re writing. Well done!
It reminds me of a Sequoia ever lifting up it’s head, bringing on new limbs, especially the part about “at my age”.
Nice image Walt. Thanks for sharing.
🙂
Love the title!!! And oh my yes,,,, shift happens as skin crepes and eye sight changes, hearing less and tummy bigger.. shift happens 😊
Maybe growth is over-rated. Instead, play comfortable in the competencies you already have if it hurts too much. LOL. Good piece.
A great read … touching a familiar feeling.
I wish shift didn’t happen at all. It’s true we need some kind of expansion to carry it all.
